Coffee shops & books sharing – an idea (3)

06 Aug

Again from James Harris, another idea of how to share books.

“A nationwide movement, Little Free Library prompts bibliophiles to put up small shelved structures outside their homes where people can take books and leave some too. The result can be conversation, friendship and a sense of community.”

The Little Free Library.

I’ve heard about something similar in Vienna, where they also put small libraries around the city. In that case it was the project of the city authorities and then of an individual.

If you look at the world map at Little Free Libraries, you’ll see they have a few outposts in Europe, so it’s more than just a national movement.

Yes, indeed. If i was any good at DIY and lived in a house i would definitely make one in Cyprus. It would probably be vandalised or burned of course.

I read more about Bookcrossing and it seems that it will be very difficult to do here since not many people are registered in Cyprus and those that are have never used it.

Do you see any books that you might want from my Give Away List Jim? 🙂
